Contacts

This is a private reference site, not the Elko County Sheriff's Office, a jail counter, a court, or a corrections agency. It cannot confirm whether someone is in custody, release a person, post bond, pull booking records, or obtain police reports for you. Use the official office or locator that controls the record.

Official Places to Check

For Elko County jail and sheriff records questions, start with the sheriff's office contact channels below. The sheriff site says records requests may be submitted in person, by mail, or through the web form; an ID copy is required except for business requests, fees may apply, and the records department contacts requesters within five days. If more time is needed, the form estimates about 30 days.

Use the list below to choose the correct path before calling or filing a request.

  • For a person believed to be in the Elko County Detention Center, use the jail inmate records page, Nevada S.A.V.E., or the jail line at (775) 777-2530.
  • For a booking photo or public-photo issue, see jail roster mugshots; the current sheriff roster is unavailable, so a records request may be needed.
  • For charges filed after booking, use court records after a jail arrest and contact the correct Elko County court clerk.
  • For a facility-specific question, use the facility pages linked in the footer for the Elko County Detention Center, Carlin Conservation Camp, or Nevada Youth Training Center.
  • For a sentenced Nevada state prisoner, search the NDOC offender locator instead of the county jail roster.
  • For federal or immigration custody, check the BOP inmate locator or the ICE Online Detainee Locator System.
  • For custody notifications in Nevada, use Nevada S.A.V.E. or call 866-393-5445.
